We had a wonderful time last week at the PLAIN conference. We learned about new and innovative plain language techniques and got a chance to think about the future of our profession. Plus, we got to catch up with many friends – old and new – from around the globe!
Susan has been appointed to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as a Voting Member of Technical Committee 37, Working Group 11, Plain Language, to work on international standards for plain language. This will be a long process but we know she is up to the challenge and will use her years of expertise to help make the standards as clear as possible!

Susan and Barbra are headed to Oslo, Norway this week for the PLAIN conference. Barbra will present on testing techniques and plain language in emergency situations. Susan will present on ethics in plain language and on her work with the International Standards team. They are excited to connect with other plain language professionals!
